The World Health Organisation (WHO) recognises World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year. This year’s theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World’.
The overall objective is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on people’s mental health. Some groups, including health and other frontline workers, students, people living alone, and those with pre-existing mental health conditions, have been particularly affected. And services for mental, neurological and substance use disorders have been significantly disrupted.
Mental health is affected by numerous factors in your daily life, including the stress of balancing work with your health and relationships. Find out more in this section of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), where you will find resources to help you stay mentally fit and healthy.
